Marcos Palace: Liza’s book luncheon was work-related, not a private gathering

Malacañang on Tuesday defended First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos’ activities during the onslaught of Typhoon Tino in several parts of the country as part of her “responsibility and obligation” as the wife of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

In a press briefing, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace press officer Claire Castro was asked to comment on netizens’ observations that Araneta-Marcos’ activities last week – which included a concert at the Goldenberg Palace and the launch of the Philippine First Ladies Portraits Book – were ill-timed and tone-deaf as the country was being battered by a typhoon.
