Every person has their own life story, full of memories, challenges, and achievements that shape who they are. This is my journey from childhood until now, the story of how I grew up, what I experienced, and the dreams I continue to chase. My name is Reymart Zuniega, and I was raised in a simple but loving family where values, discipline, and faith were always present.
From the very beginning, I was surrounded by care and support. My childhood was not filled with riches or luxuries, but it was full of happiness. When I was young, the world seemed so simple. My greatest concern was deciding what game I would play with my friends outside. We played traditional Filipino games like tumbang preso, patintero, and habulan. Running under the sun, laughing until our stomachs hurt, and sometimes coming home with bruises or scratches those were the moments that made my childhood bright and carefree. At that time, I didn’t worry about problems or responsibilities; I was simply enjoying life.
But even during those early years, my parents made sure I learned important lessons. They taught me the value of discipline, such as waking up early, helping with household chores, and respecting elders. They also emphasized respect for family, teachers, neighbors, and everyone around me. Most importantly, they instilled in me a faith in God, reminding me to pray and trust Him in everything I do. These lessons were not just words; they became principles I carry with me until now.
My formal education began at Rogus Elementary School. I still remember the first time I entered the classroom, shy and unsure, but excited about learning new things. In elementary, I learned the basics of reading, writing, and counting. It was also there that I discovered my love for drawing. Every time there was a poster-making contest or any activity related to art, I felt motivated to join. It gave me a sense of pride whenever my work was appreciated, and I realized that expressing myself through drawing was one of my talents.
Elementary school was also where I met people who became part of my life. I had teachers who not only taught lessons from books but also guided me to become a good student. They showed me how important knowledge is, and they encouraged me to do my best, even when I preferred playing over studying. I also formed friendships with classmates like Marvin and Dan Ashley, who remain close to me up to this day. Together, we shared laughter, secrets, and adventures, creating memories that shaped my younger years.
As I moved on to high school at Villa Concepcion High School – Rogus Extension, life became more challenging. Compared to elementary, high school brought new subjects that were more difficult, especially Math and Science. There were moments when I felt overwhelmed by lessons I couldn’t easily understand. Sometimes, I doubted myself, questioning if I was smart enough to succeed. But despite those struggles, I always found the strength to keep going. My teachers encouraged me, my friends cheered me up, and my family never stopped believing in me.
High school was not just about academics; it was also a time of self discovery. It was during these years that I first dreamed of becoming an IT professional. I became curious about computers, how they worked, and how technology could change people’s lives. At the same time, high school was filled with unforgettable experiences-school programs, contests, group projects, and laughter with friends. I especially treasure the memories I shared with Jericho and Jurel. They were more than just classmates; they became my source of happiness and inspiration. With them, every day felt lighter, and I realized how important true friendship is.
As much as high school tested my patience and perseverance, it also strengthened my character. I learned how to manage my time between academics and personal life, how to face failures, and how to stand back up after disappointments. Those lessons prepared me for the next chapter of my journey college.
Now, I am in my third year of college at Isabela State University, taking Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT). College is the toughest stage so far. Unlike high school, where the focus was broader, college dives deep into specialized subjects. Programming, database management, and other IT-related courses require intense focus, critical thinking, and endless practice. There are days when I spend sleepless nights working on assignments or projects, and moments when exams make me feel anxious and doubtful.
But college is also the most meaningful part of my journey because it is the bridge to my dreams. Every hardship I face now is a step toward becoming the IT professional I want to be. Sometimes, I feel tired and lose motivation, but I always remind myself why I started this journey. I am here not only for myself but also for my family. I want to give back to my parents, who sacrificed so much for me, and I want to prove that their efforts were not in vain. My dream is to become skilled in computers, find a stable and fulfilling job, and inspire others especially young people who may also come from simple beginnings like mine.
Beyond academics, college has also taught me resilience and self reliance. I have faced moments of failure like when I couldn’t solve a programming problem after hours of trying but each failure became an opportunity to learn. I have also experienced moments of joy like successfully finishing a project or presenting my work confidently. These ups and downs have taught me that success is not measured by how fast you achieve something, but by how persistent you are in chasing it.
Looking back, I realize that everything I have gone through has shaped me into the person I am today. My carefree childhood gave me memories to cherish and values to hold onto. My high school years tested me with challenges and inspired me to dream big. My college life continues to push me toward growth, responsibility, and independence. Every achievement and failure, every happiness and pain, has contributed to my character.
I believe that life is a journey of constant learning. Even when the road becomes difficult, there is always a lesson to gain. I have learned patience when things don’t go as planned, determination when challenges feel overwhelming, and hope when the future seems uncertain. No matter what, I continue to move forward, guided by the faith and values I was taught as a child.
This is my story so far a story of simplicity, challenges, and dreams. But it is not yet finished. I know there are still many chapters to write, many struggles to overcome, and many successes to celebrate. What matters most is that I never give up, and I continue to believe in myself and in the brighter future ahead.
